What is this?

If you happened to stumble across us organically, you're likely thinking, "where the heck am I?" Well — you've stumbled into TheNodeWorld!

TheNodeWorld is a multi-user web application, featuring an IRC-style chat room and an interactive, user-driven whiteboard (that's extremely large). Chat as you connect with others around the world. Create your space filled with games, text, images, videos . . . anything you'd like to share here!

The best way to get a feel for what's here, is to give it a try. Please be sure to read the rules before you create your account. More help is offered on the FAQ, and logged in.

FAQ

1) How do users communicate here?
While communication through the white board is achievable, most happens through the chat room on the lower half of the split-screen. This chat room is equipped with various public "channels" (rooms/topics) for group discussion, as well as a P2P private messaging system.

2) What is the "white board?"
The white board is a gigantic, explorative, and interactive content area, built with an X/Y axis, and filled with user content. As you navigate, you're bound to find games, photos, videos, passages of writing . . . the unimaginable — all with true X/Y coordinates that you can save for re-visiting later.

3) Does content always stay put?
Sometimes — currently, the system allows users to create content that does both: they can lock it, or they can choose to not. Once a user creates an "object," like a block of text or a photo, they can click to drag it and then lock it, or leave it for other users to also continue moving.

4) X and Y coordinates — what?!
The entire "world" is built on an X/Y axis that uses coordinates — just like the actual world's longitude (X) and latitude (Y). While navigating, you always have a display of your current coordinates, and a tool to "save" coordinates to your "bookmarks."

5) Still need help? Sign up and look.

Community Rules

TheNodeWorld is an open, creative space — and keeping it that way is a shared responsibility. Most of this is common sense. Read it once, remember it, and you'll never have a problem here.

Respect Is Non-Negotiable
Swearing is fine. Adult conversations are fine. Strong opinions are fine. What is not fine is directing any of that at another person in a way that is demeaning, threatening, or designed to make them feel unwelcome. Debate naturally. Disagree openly. Attack the idea, not the person.

Hate Speech & Discrimination
Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, religious hatred, or any content targeting a person or group based on who they are is not permitted — in chat, world objects, profiles, or anywhere on the platform. No gray area. No exceptions.

Adult Content
TheNodeWorld is not an adult platform. Suggestive content is permitted within reason — a shirtless person at a lake is not a problem. Sexually explicit imagery, graphic nudity, or content that exists purely to shock or offend is not. When in doubt, don't post it.

World Objects & Profiles
Everything you place on the whiteboard and everything on your profile is subject to these same guidelines. Reported content gets an immediate moderation overlay and staff review. Repeated violations will result in account action.

Keep It Welcoming
This community is built on the idea that creative people from all walks of life can share a space together. Intimidation, harassment, and bad-faith behavior work against that. If someone asks you to stop engaging with them, stop.

Enforcement
Violations are handled at staff discretion: warning → temporary ban → permanent ban → IP-level block for repeat offenders who attempt to circumvent enforcement. No appeals for hate speech, harassment, or explicit content violations.

The overwhelming majority of people here will never need to read this twice. Thanks for being part of it.

Your privacy matters to us. We collect as little as possible, we don't sell anything, and we don't track you.

Who We Are
TheNodeWorld is an independent project built and operated by ZiZZiSTUDiO. No investors, no advertisers, no third-party data agreements. Everything runs on our own infrastructure.

What We Collect
To create an account we ask for a username (doesn't have to be your real name), an email address (used only to verify your account — never for marketing or sold to anyone), and a password (stored as a one-way encrypted hash — we cannot read it).

IP Addresses
Your IP may appear in standard server logs for security and abuse prevention only. It is not profiled, stored alongside your account data, or used to identify you.

What We Do Not Collect
No tracking pixels. No Google Analytics. No reCAPTCHA. No advertising of any kind. No third-party scripts that profile you. All fonts are self-hosted.

Cookies & Sessions
We use a single PHP session cookie to keep you logged in. It contains no personal information and expires when you log out or close your browser.

Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your data with any third party. No exceptions.

Account Deletion
To have your account and data removed, contact us through the in-world Help menu. We will action it promptly.
